Crammy saying the Lituanian is advancing but Werro not.

Beeb have a clip from the infield showing she tripped over her own legs

Edit: Updated she's through on appeal..

Werro is one lucky beor to be in that final. Will need to get the head straight now for tomorrow night.

Has Bol a faster pace? Her running is so metronomic - fast metronomic obviously - but you'd wonder can she up the pace in a dust-up. Her 1:55 in the recent DL is fair progress since the turn of the year but she surely needs another second or two to be talking about gold.

She has said that she has a bit of a mental hang up about dying in the last 200m

I dont think she will do it but if see asserts herself against Keely I just don't see her getting passed.

Keely can only win from the front tomorrow

Balls. Werro hits the deck at 500m or so.

Total face plant. looks like she tripped over her own legs or else got clipped by the other Swiss runner.

I'd say she'll be advanced because of who she is but 10 in the final isn't great (another girl was brought down who 100% should be advanced)

Chances of a Keely Gold went up.

Femke looked awesome again. If she can get in front between 400 and 500m she'll stay there
Would Femke not be most dangerous ‘chasing them down’ similar to some of her heroic anchor legs in the relays. Of the big 3 I’d have had her as the one who would hang and get there on last bend vs going to the front earlier. The other two you could see making it a bananas pace to fill Bol up with lactic to take the kick out of her.

I don't think so but as anyone who reads this thread knows I'm far from any reliable predictor of events.

I think Keely needs to be put under pressure.

Very plausible Werro and Keely do a Jingy/Kerr and mark each other into oblivion while Femke picks up the pieces

I don't think Keely nor Werro will slow down like a 400m relay athlete who takes the first 200 too fast. they are all training for even splits and for 1:55

But if Femke takes it on at 500m the converse is also true, she should hold her top speed and they won't get past

Keely loses when she's challenged at 500 like Mary Moiraa

They fucked up the Decathlon pole vault one group of jumpers thought they were at 4.80 when they only cleared 4.70.

Chances of London worlds in 2029 receding

Agreed - however, we haven't seen Bol "take it on" in any of her 800's so far. It's been a case of "this is my speed and none of ye are gonna live with it for long".

Mind you, as well as you 500m scenario Guapo, I can see keely and Werro going all out at 650 / 700. Femke just about hanging on and then hoovering them up Mark English-style down the straight.

As you say, they are all training for even splits so this is only a tactical race in so far as how long they hold those splits. It's going to be brilliant tomorrow night.

Dunno lads. I'd love to see Femke winning it but if the top two - and remember they are the top two - run to form, I think it's too much for Bol at this stage of her 800 career. Between travelling, socialising, a wedding, more travelling, I'll be lucky to catch the racing. Will be in Heathrow this evening so fingers crossed the fookers have it on a screen. If so, I could pick up both the women's 2 and the men's 8.

I think pace is everything, an athlete can increase stamina but you either have pace or not. That's why I think so many top 1500 m runners when they switch tend to dominate 3000, 5000 more easily than their own event.

I'm not sure how hard the transition from 400 to 800 is, but she is such a smooth and natural runner I would hope she has it in her legs and if so I think it is hard to bet against her, unless someone does a David Rudisha and runs everyone into he ground.
