Well, he's always talked about as a medal hope at Euro level but this year that talk has a lot more to it. He has really perfected the late burn from 600m on.

Here's a view of the race on YouTube, taken from a seat in the stand on the back straight - it gives a different perspective of the race. Just pause the vid at the bell and see how far behind English and McPhillips are. There's no way you'd have tipped them to get up like they did.

Just saw a Euro U18 silver though. Bit naughty from our girl in the 1500, hugging the inside all the way and clipped one or two as she passed 'em. Hope she keeps the medal. It was that young one who did so well in the Euro Cross, Hickey.

Yeah, she's a talent, no question - Euro medals not on the track and X-country. I thought it was harmless enough C - nothing major on the clipping side.
