The Official Athletics Thread

I hadn’t the heart to post that this morning Guapo. Awful stuff. We have a picture of her on the notice board in our kitchen crossing the line to win the Euro1500, arms held aloft on a fantastic night.
She’s always been an inspirational figure - and could always adjust her path to get where she wanted to go - but now, she’s in the hands of fate. It’s brutal.

I see Griggs is entered in the 1500 AND the mile this evening in Ostrava - has the mile the slightly better field?

Mawdesley's 50.17 doesn't look at all out of place in the W400 - hope she gets a good blast

Werro is the clear standout in the W800 - will she peak again - maybe not with the other big guns absent. Mrs Broeders-Bol is all set, and Emma Moore will presumably be looking to get closer to the 2:00

McRae looks the pick of the bunch on the M400 while half the field in the 100 have gone sub-10 this season.

Is it on a stream anywhere - VIrgin not covering as it's not Diamond League

It's on the WA website. Inside track or whatever its called

Just watched the womens 800.

Very impressed with Werro

Good showing from Bolová too she'll be happy with that you'd imagine. She was kind of playing with fire and looked reasonably comfortable

The stream is on the YouTube now too so will watch the rest this Evening

Werro definitely seems to have upped the ante. Bol fairly happy you'd have to think but there's work to do if she wants to close the gap to the top two.

Jenny Simpson world 2011 Gold medalist in the 1500m and Olympic Bronze in Rio collapsed after the Sir Walter mile

Was without a pulse for a period. They were doing CPR for 20 mins.

She's still alive. I hope she pulls through
