Kiplimo on 2:00:13 pace at 20 miles

Edit: Slowing down now, we're looking at a 2:01

Bonked Badly with 4 to go. Collapsed at the finish, they went through 8k in 1:57 pace with was obviously too hot.

He'll get there

Lovely AR for Conor Mantz.

Yeah, got to watch it from about km 25 or so. No commentary though and few stats. Just 5k updates. Tired a lot in last 3 or 4k. Mantz ran steadily.

Good interview for the nerds

If you remeber all those times McEllhenny was in position with 600m to go and just crashes and burns he goes into through it here in some detail.

His VLaMax (Velocity at Lactate Max) was piss poor, some Swedish physiologist twigged it, when his body saw high lactate levels it hit panic mode to try and clear it so he couldn't close out races.

2x6 week blocks of high lactate with short rests to so his body could learn some tolerance.

Well worth a listen

Wow, he ran a blinder in the Copenhagen half but I thought he was targeting Valencia. 2:07 is getting serious - brilliant to see it.
He now has the NRs for the half and the full. This should put him on the list for some of the big races in 2026.

Hadn't seen this before - Linkletter and Mantz share a moment just before their warmup on race day in Chicago last week

They are ex-BYU team mates - and AFAIk both Mormons too
