Finally got home and watched the whole game. Very impressed with Vieira, clever player and puts in the defensive work too. Martinelli didn’t have his best attacking game but his work rate was insane defensively and he worked his ass off. Ramsdale’s passing was superb for this match, he had virtually no saves to make though. 83rd minute “A stroll in the park, A stroll in the paaaark, Ivan Toney, a stroll in the park.” Smashing banter. Jesus is an absolute joy to watch. So unpredictable. The 15 year old looks about 19. It’s a weird one but I don’t think we were at our best today attacking wise, this game could have been 0-5 if we clicked a bit better. But what we were was a well oiled machine where it’s clearly the system that’s the most important part. Our fighting and teamwork was phenomenal and we are going to click for some games this season and embarrass certain teams. Partey didn’t have his best game but we definitely play so much better when he’s there. Xhaka is the leader but Jesus, Gabriel, Odegaard, White, Tierney and Ramsdale are also leaders. Vieira is a very good player, he wasn’t as involved as Odegaard normally would be but I’m surprised he hasn’t been mentioned more after the game, that was a solid game and fantastic goal. Saliba is scary good and Saka had a very good game and was probably unlucky not to score. On a final note, we are really good now and the players that came in seamlessly fitted with the game plan. We are not being lucky being currently top of the league and our aim of top 4 is well on track. And Zinchenko and Odegaard to come back.
