Can't argue with any of that. Plus the attempt to extend his contract.It's a very bad look.
It reads like Arsenal avoided taking the difficult decision on a technicality - i.e. that he wasn't actually charged with a crime while he was an Arsenal player.
But Arteta came out and said he was 100% confident that the club had followed the right internal procedures.
Depending on what comes out during the trial that stance and comment may well come under massive scrutiny.
How robust were their internal procedures? How did their incentives (to get the player out on the pitch) influence that?
