The fee (£13m) looked a bit much for a guy about to turn 33

But so far he's proving great value. If he's the difference between staying up or going down then the outlay will pay back many times over.

I read somewhere that he's covered more ground than any other PL player so far this season. That's incredible at his age, unless he's on goofballs.
