The Official Arsenal Thread - Part 2

That’s very positive news for the gunners. Tying down your best players on long-term contracts is a great sign.

I’d expect Arsenal’s wage bill to rise massively over next few seasons. They were well below United/City/Liverpool/Chelsea for a long time.

I remember when Liverpool tied down the bigger hitters and it affected the clubs spending. Arsenal/Liverpool are both constrained by budgets so I don’t think we’ll see €200m+ annual spending on players as the wage bill eats into the budget.

Odegaard is class. Great player to watch. No drama with him either, a managers dream really.

£30m we paid for him!

that's fuck all in today's market (y)

5 years - Madrid had a gem and were just fucking around with him (yes, they also have other amazing players in midfield), sending him on loan left right and centre...glad El T (and Edu) went for him, provided him a home and made him feel important and wanted...I thin k it is fair to say Arteta's unlocked© him even if he still has room from improvement....but what a player & leader...and he does all that without playing the tough/hard man routine, love him.

Saka, Saliba, Martinelli and Ramsdale all renewed/extended in the last 4 months, top top job by the execs

We've got most of our best players tied down for their peak years on relatively sane wages. Of course the wage bill will increase and needed to to tie down these players but that's the way it is.

The wages that we'll be paying peak Saka, Odegaard, Saliba, Martinelli, Ramsdale, etc will be quite (relatively) sane.

It’s almost like the club went for a reset a couple of seasons ago and is following a process 🤔

Josh supposedly the driving force behind the new contract. In fairness, since they took full control of the club and handed Josh the reins, we've had very little to complain about bar the super league and the cuntery with covid layoffs.
