Agreed it’s shitloads of money, not going to argue against this but if that’s the player El T absolutely wants and Arsenal midfield is sorted for the next 4 years then it’s a good investment.

The positives of academy players making it can't be overstated. We'll never compete with City, Utd and Chelsea on the money front so we have to be ahead of the curve on scouting and developing youth.

I wonder what kind of role ESR will get. Will have to wait till wee see what our midfield is like first I suppose.

Having him cover Ødegaard and the wingers would be amazing and would nearly guarantee 30 mins per game and some starts

Agreed on the scouting and youth development.

As for ESR, plenty people have been saying for weeks/months that’s he’s being trained to slot into the Xhaka left 8 role…can’t see him being part of the Martinelli
/Saka rotation on the wing, it’s not his game.
