What's very hard to accept is that our children and grand-children will probably never be able to afford to own their own homes in this country jimmy. A roof over one's head where they couldn't be screwed on rent taking bigger and bigger chunks of their take-home pay and at the end have something to leave to their kids to get a start in life.

For our children now a much higher percentage will never be able to afford their own home in Ireland, and instead will have to pay "dead money" in rent, much more than a mortgage for a house, but at the end of their working lives have nothing to show for it. Or else will have to move abroad. That's what's very hard to accept imho. But that's the FF-FG legacy now.

Our grandchildren wont have food or water if climate change continues unchecked.

Don't ask Sinn Fein the dog ate their homework.

Can you explain why the Irish Government refused to release the report? "It's a secret and I'm not going to tell you" is infantile stuff from primary school.

Why didn't the Government call the bluff if that's what it was, release the figures and then give Sinn Fein no excuse for not coming up with a proposal? It's done every year with the financial budget costings, but they wouldn't do it on the climate budget. Why not?
Perhaps the gubbermint thought it would be best to let SF look like the idiots that they are with their lack of climate change policy, even PBP had one. :ROFLMAO:

The emperor Eamonn Ryan has no clothes. Will the yanks take busses, will the third world stop developing while their standard of living is less than the west, and do the like of Putin care about climate change. We are going to get climate change, and we should be planning how to deal with it. If they were serious that the centre of Dublin will be underwater, we should be actually doing something about it now. Will 1.5 degrees be disastrous for Ireland. Maybe not, and we should be selfish for once and stop trying to solve the world's problems, Let the people who have the problem sort it.

everything is relative, for somebody who can barely make ends meet and paying high rent to read Kathleen funcheon say she is struggling on 90kplus expenses
can be very hard to accept,

Struggling or struggling to get a mortgage together to buy a house for herself and her children?

In the context of the interview it is the latter, but many will find it hard to understand how somebody on such a good salary plus
expenses should be in this position, I read some of the comments in the mirror article and some are posting stuff about her and her broken marriage, that should be off limits, one woman who i think is a former cork sf cllr posted some strong allegations, maybe true but no need to post online,
same cllr left sf on bad terms,

You the beaut who tries to lecture others on their spelling seems to have difficulty spelling the word Government even though it actually appears for you on the thread title 🤣

And SF are fully in favour of trying to achieve the 2030 and 2050 climate change policies that Ireland have signed up for. You appear to be trying to chastise SF for not indulging in some blind "think of a number" speculation to refute the Government's figures when the Government had sight of the climate report, something they refused to share. And no doubt had SF indulged in such you'd have criticised them for that too.

If people can't understand how even the well paid will struggle to buy their own houses going forward then they've not been paying attention Jimmy. Sinn Fein and the opposition have been making that point for years now. That it would be news to them now is hardly anybody's fault but their own.

And some left FG/FF/Greens on bad terms, that's a different issue though.
