Does Deputy Flynn help at all, I'm sure I've seen pics of him at a lot of GAA clubs including BD.I don’t have to say that. I’m not talking about club business outside the club.

Turning up for a photo shoot. What politician wouldn’t do that.Does Deputy Flynn help at all, I'm sure I've seen pics of him at a lot of GAA clubs including BD.
Bad form if he doesn't help out but would be surprised if he hasn't , bread and butter of local politicians.Turning up for a photo shoot. What politician wouldn’t do that.
Nobody wants to be the one to pull the trigger. Those that do usually don’t end up in the job. I reckon a deal has been done with Jimbo.

The only one calling for a change of leader is John McGuinness and he’s been doing that for 20 years. Micheál will be gone in 12 months is my guess.

There’s more than him calling for a change of Leadership of FF both inside and outside of the party. MHR didn’t fall out with FF but with its leadership it seems. DHR the same.Nobody wants to be the one to pull the trigger. Those that do usually don’t end up in the job. I reckon a deal has been done with Jimbo.

I’ve already said here I think he’ll be gone in January. Those who’d be expected to run when he does go have all so far shied away from taking him out with some even expressing confidence in him in public. I fully get that the decision of who should lead FF lays properly and completely within FF btw, but I think you’re delusional if you honestly believe there’s only one FF TD calling for a change at the top.
And of course it’s the nature of these things in all parties that what can start with just one who seems a lone voice, can bubble under for quite a while, and suddenly boil over quickly.
I’d liken it again to an iceberg - those within the party openly calling for change indicate a much greater body of members below the surface thinking along similar lines but just not giving voice to it - yet!
I can’t see MM getting dumped before EU Presidency gig in July (unless he makes another ballsup) but I’d be astounded if MM was still at the helm this time next year. So another FF Taoiseach or will they go to the country next Spring![]()

An election now or changing Taoiseach now wouldn’t do any good in such a period of instability. Despite what politicians may say publicly most politicians would accept that.
I’d be very surprised if there was an election when he retires. Elect a new party leader, send him up to the Áras. Job done and drive on.
