It will be interesting to see how quick The Government intervenes now with regard to energy taxes following on from what the EU Energy Commissioner said this afternoon.

Irish politicians look to their political future and will not dare and rattle that EU cage, where they want to end up

Filled up myself today €2.07 per litre of diesel - with 56% going to the government, would actually make you physically sick.
€1.04 goes on taxes and duties - like how does a carbon tax actually reduce our carbon footprint?
Yes electric vehicles sales are up but we're seriously lacking in infrastructure for it.

And personal preference as of right now I will never buy electric - maybe a hybrid put not plug in hybrid.
The depreciation on electric cars is a joke to an extent a lot of car dealers will not offer trade ins for them.
Carbon tax is not going to make me change my mind like.

I also feel sorry for those who own electric vehicles who get high and mighty of 'saving the world', they go quiet when I explain what's involved in making their batteries, how long they last and the replacement cost. I also explain if they run out of battery that the generator that comes by van both are diesel powered or the tow truck to tow them is diesel powered.

An EV is a status symbol, not much else. You won't see too many on the ferry to France.

Now that we have confirmation that Lowry was not, and is not, corrupt, it is only fair that he is re-admitted to Fine Gael just like Bertie was re-admitted to Fianna Fáil.

Let’s hope that Simon Harris sees this and welcomes the Lowry organisation home.

Yeah, I think you're right. That was the place QEII visited. Can't be many places of business in the UK, never mind in Ireland, that received visits from both the siting British Monarch and the British Prime Minister. Wonder why that place makes and for whom that it got selected.
