I don't understand that either. Surely there is nothing to prevent them from changing labelling requirements on foods so that country of origin must be declared on the front of the package (or at least EU/Non EU) with rules preventing packaged in the EU shit hawkery and a simple declaration of food has been produced to meet EU minimum standards as set by the bloc I.e..limits on Hormones or Antibiotics or Animal Welfare or whatever. .

After that let the shops stock the Angel Dust Steaks Tarriff free and let the consumer decide

He's a two-faced chancer without the barest of notions of basic human decency who should be drummed out of politics.

Earlier on he was saying he wants everyone in the country to have a digital ID tied to their PPS number to use the internet, all so children can be protected (adminy can verify who's due a free pint at the next PROC-up, then.) The next minute he's saying Elon's website that creates child sexual abuse material is fine. I suppose if the average Irish citizen was a billionaire like Elon he'd also let us break any law we want.
