Yes people seem to be oblivious of the processes and cost of what comes out of a tap.He was technically right. Drinking water doesn’t fall from the sky. The water charges fiasco was a national embarrassment from all sides.

Bar a few retirees, the majority of the staff in the Lee Road are the same for the last 20 yearsWhen the county councils were running the water everything was done to the best of their ability with the budget(not enough) they had.
It was then given to Irish water with a budget(not enough) who then subcontracted the maintenance and treatment of its plants out to third party contractors who are there to make money.
So now the budget that was being used by the councils to maintain the plants etc is now also being used to pay Irish water for its 'administration ' and the third party contractors paying their staff and running it all as cheaply as possible so that they can make a profit.
And people are surprised the service and quality has gone down?

I am glad you used the word staff rather than " workers "Bar a few retirees, the majority of the staff in the Lee Road are the same for the last 20 years
Maybe so, there are also many new plants which are being run by third party contractors as well but still the money is less because for the same budget the money that was used solely for maintenance wages etc now is used for that and Irish waters slice and any third party contractors slice.Bar a few retirees, the majority of the staff in the Lee Road are the same for the last 20 years
City council water workers are fighting against transferring to irish water,Maybe so, there are also many new plants which are being run by third party contractors as well but still the money is less because for the same budget the money that was used solely for maintenance wages etc now is used for that and Irish waters slice and any third party contractors slice.
Irish water will play the long game, those lads are as such working for Irish water anyway as it is they that instruct the councils as to works involving water.City council water workers are fighting against transferring to irish water,
FF said nothing in its election manifesto about replacing RPZs either, so it was a bit economical with its true intentions in canvassing votes.Michael Martin said in the Dail this morning that MLMD is telling lies, He said it As gaeilge, Verona either didnt hear or didnt understand,
