The next Government

Who will form the next government

  • Total voters
    56
  • Poll closed .
The election will be fought mainly on the economy, like it or not, most people look at their own situation and if they are doing well they wont rock the boat,
You saw how poorly that they behaved after Apple lost their case this week while Ireland Inc. backed its old tax structure and Apple and came out luckily with a shed full of cash.

If people are lucky to have a home, decent jobs, foreign holiday then why would they even risk it all with S.F. unworkable housing plan (remember that) or their tax proposals?

They released an arts and culture plan 16 pages long and 13 of those pages were photographs apparently.

Where the fock is this Govts planning reform bill as that is seriously impacting housing and renewables etc.?

Tons of money, full-employment and who will build all these promised homes from all parties with figures pulled out of the sky

Transport and infrastructure?

Ireland 2040 is just too late and mostly aspirational waffle.

This Govt. has no excuses really.

As the new Dan pointed out last week, lack of a credible opposition is saving them,

FF/FG/Green coalition handed the opposition ball fully to S.F. and they simply could capitalise on it and then they just kept tripping themselves up or flip-flopping on policy while Simon Harris got lucky and he has fallen upwards.

Most people have no problem with immigration. Many people think we’re taking in too many refugees however which is a separate issue and often confused with immigration. Indeed there are many sectors of the economy suffering from very real skills shortages including engineering and construction. Guess what we also have a shortage of? Houses. Immigration is one way that skills shortages can be reduced.

The question is how will that away peoples votes. I think Jimmy is correct. It’s the economy stupid. People who are doing well will vote for FF or FG.
