The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Munster seem obsessed with living in the past.
By all means reminisce and celebrate past glories, produce a f*cking play if you so wish but for the love of God don't be putting ex players without the requisite qualifications or experience into decision making roles.
It's not like it's owed to them!
They played their part in writing the Munster story but the privilege was as much theirs to wear the jersey as it was ours to witness them in it.
I think it was Donners said years ago that none of them own the jersey, they are just borrowing it until the next fella comes along.
Well some of them could do with learning that their past endeavors in the jersey doesn't give them any ownership over the Province out of it.

I was in a bar yesterday with the Mrs and we were admiring a few photos of the 2006 success on the wall. 20 years ago.

We were saying that it's not a case of Munster getting back to those levels. Munster were never at those levels, those few years were an anomaly. Where Munster are now is their level.

Too harsh, or correct?

Very harsh 2 wins, 4 finals, 7 semi finals in 13 years up to 2008 , munster were top level back then , with a bit of luck could have won it more times

18 years ago though. What has our level been since?
Since then, a huge drop off for me, we were still making 1/4 finals regularly up to around 5 or 6 years ago but never looked like winning one. Last 6 years bar the unexpected urc win in SA have been very disjointed and poor.
We've been in "transition" a long time now.
Doubt we will ever have the resources players wise to ever win the HC again
