The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Sweet! Why couldn't they have gone for him in the first place and avoided all the fuck acting???

I seem to be on a constant negative response to things here (maybe I like the misery) but this feels bottom of the barrel stuff.

He'd decided to leave Scarlets at the end of the season, back in March, then they announced a review of the coaching ticket after it so maybe he was jumping before being pushed.

You'd argue the talent pool to work with should now be higher for him.

Let's see how it goes

Could be a case of Munster with their financial woes can't attract a whole lot better at the moment

And what happened with Roger Randle...

Can really see the gnashing of teeth happening around the start of November. If the first couple of European matches are hard, e.g. vs French team away, can see full meltdown by December.

Pretty underwhelmed by Payne and Duffy tbh but given everything that has gone on over the last few months I doubt there was a queue forming to get in on some of that fandangled Munster action.

Lets see how it goes I guess.
It can't work out much worse I don't think.

At least it's not too badly jobs-for-the-boys, it's bringing in people with prior experience rather than giving a recently retired senior player, who has almost no experience outside Munster, a job. Payne has done Ulster, Clermont and Scarlets, Duffy with Connacht, Ulster and Western Force.

Neither have won a huge amount, U20s 6 nations and Connacht Pro12 for Duffy, don't think Payne has actually won anything as a coach.
