The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Absolutely not , huge result into last 8 and qualified for next years champions Cup, dead right to celebrate it , im delighted and so should they be
Its shite, they are not at all out of the woods yet, so what if they qualified for next year's Champions Cup, they qualified for this year's too and failed in that.
This is the league FFS, not so long ago a Munster B team could go all season.
I just expect much better of them and clapping themselves on the back now is congratulating each other on playing shite most of the season.

That should have been easier but job done.

It was a harder year this year, last year's 51 points wouldn't have gotten them into Europe this year.

Injuries can't have helped, pretty unfortunate to lose so many of the best players in the last 3 matches. Casey came through today in fairness.
First time as captain too, and he played a captain's part tbf.

We should have a stronger pack next season and it hasn't gone unnoticed with me how well Gleeson did at 8 when it mattered tonight. I hope he can stay fit

That was relief but also it was a performance against the odds.

This is where we are, and have been sliding towards for years. I don't care about the QF, the CC job has been done with one of the worst squads we've had in 20 years.

Injured players:
Edwin Edogbo (shoulder), Lee Barron (neck), Roman Salanoa (hamstring), Conor Ryan (ankle), Paddy Patterson (knee), Michael Milne (calf), Oli Jager (head), Tadhg Beirne (knee), Jean Kleyn (bicep), Tom Farrell (shoulder), Calvin Nash (hamstring).
Plus Fineen Wycherley, Alex Nankivell and Jack Crowley.

You had Gordon Wood making his competitive debut.
11 out of the normal match day 23 is a lot to be missing. Add just Crowley, Beirne and Nankivell into that team and it'd be a whole lot stronger

You are still of the belief that Munster are good and should be competing for URC and CC titles.
This is our level now, no point pretending otherwise.
They are dead right to celebrate winning a must win game and securing CC qualification.

Question is, were Ulster right to send out a B team against Munster?

Suppose the final is when we'll find out...

Top 8 is 3 Irish, 3 SA, 1 Welsh, 1 Scottish. Good to see a spread. Clearly the SA and Irish teams have it harder, SA due to travel, they have it easy for home matches but really hard local games. Irish teams might actually have a tougher time of it as few teams send a weakened team to Ireland.
