I think Clayton is the real deal, but he could be wasting his time in Munster. Remember when he arrived, he had lads boxing and running up hills.
He's after getting himself caught up in a shitshow through no fault of his own and while I hope he stays, I don't blame the man if he wants to leave.
It's such a shame as it really seemed like we had turned a corner when his first few games went so well.
He's living on the opposite side of the world to home and things are a disaster. You wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Clayton walked into a mine field.
There is an unfortunate pattern in MR.
Rob Penney was a coach with an innovative approach. Some senior players (including ROG and POC) did not approve and led a mutiny. He was removed. Paul now regrets his role.
Wig fell out with POM and Murray. He was removed.
Some people in MR were unhappy that Clayton was chosen ahead of Mike P.
RR was appointed Attack Coach. People resigned from committees. This was relayed to Cian Treacy and R O Connor.
Clayton is a former policeman and knows that RR is a man of good character. He asked MR to back him.
The people that seem to have an issue with due process wrt the appointment, are not prepared to accept that due process was applied in a historical issue concerning RR.
Some people have decided that RR should be tried by social media now.
This is wrong. A man has been released recently in the UK, after 17 yrs in jail for a rape that he didn't commit.
Rape is reprehensible. We have a presumption of innocence. We must either respect this or change the status quo - we can't have both.
RR is innocent. That doesn't change because some express contrary opinions on social media.
We either adhere to our principles or we abandon them.
Cian Treacy decided to allow people with a hidden agenda, undermine RR and Clayton. He and R O Connor know exactly what they have done and how they have served the aims of their anonymous informants.
The people with the agenda have achieved what they set out to do. They wanted to undermine the CEO, GM and Head Coach of MR. Treacy and O Connor decided to advance their careers in the full knowledge that parties were mischief making.
People can draw their own conclusions on the journalistic integrity of Treacy and O Connor.
