The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

If you have two gutter hacks launching a sustained attack on the club why not. i wouldnt be giving them access
The club is more then capable of shooting themselves in the foot, the 2 hacks report what is happening; losing money, voluntary redundancies, resignations from the professional playing board, appalling displays on the pitch and now an about turn on the appointment of Randell- all of this is factual and has been caused by Munster to themselves, farcical stuff.
Munster are actually fortunate that many other clubs in the urc are as badly run

Oconnor and treacy have been pumping out the hit pieces the last two weeks. theres a leak who doesnt have the balls to go on the record and their coverage is damaging the club. a pair of assholes. zero integrity just chasing clicks and happy to see an innocent mans name dragged through the dirt to get interactions and plug their shitty podcast. gutter press.

I think Clayton is the real deal, but he could be wasting his time in Munster. Remember when he arrived, he had lads boxing and running up hills.

He's after getting himself caught up in a shitshow through no fault of his own and while I hope he stays, I don't blame the man if he wants to leave.

It's such a shame as it really seemed like we had turned a corner when his first few games went so well.

He's living on the opposite side of the world to home and things are a disaster. You wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Clayton walked into a mine field.

There is an unfortunate pattern in MR.

Rob Penney was a coach with an innovative approach. Some senior players (including ROG and POC) did not approve and led a mutiny. He was removed. Paul now regrets his role.

Wig fell out with POM and Murray. He was removed.

Some people in MR were unhappy that Clayton was chosen ahead of Mike P.

RR was appointed Attack Coach. People resigned from committees. This was relayed to Cian Treacy and R O Connor.

Clayton is a former policeman and knows that RR is a man of good character. He asked MR to back him.

The people that seem to have an issue with due process wrt the appointment, are not prepared to accept that due process was applied in a historical issue concerning RR.

Some people have decided that RR should be tried by social media now.

This is wrong. A man has been released recently in the UK, after 17 yrs in jail for a rape that he didn't commit.

Rape is reprehensible. We have a presumption of innocence. We must either respect this or change the status quo - we can't have both.

RR is innocent. That doesn't change because some express contrary opinions on social media.

We either adhere to our principles or we abandon them.

Cian Treacy decided to allow people with a hidden agenda, undermine RR and Clayton. He and R O Connor know exactly what they have done and how they have served the aims of their anonymous informants.

The people with the agenda have achieved what they set out to do. They wanted to undermine the CEO, GM and Head Coach of MR. Treacy and O Connor decided to advance their careers in the full knowledge that parties were mischief making.

People can draw their own conclusions on the journalistic integrity of Treacy and O Connor.

Randall must be a relatively close friend of his too. If it were one of your friends in that situation and you backed him, you'd probably end up walking too.

I've barely seen this mentioned but let's not pretend that SA in 1997 was a bastion of police integrity and competence, especially when it came to NZ.

It shouldnt be underplayed how inappropriate it was for a SA policeman to go on NZ television to give personal opinions on an investigation that were at odds with the state prosecutor. the piece at the centre of this pile on in the SA mail and guardian is primarily written on the basis of this paid tv appearance and doesnt even have the name of the writer attached. It was a closed matter from 29 years ago. no case taken and randle remains an innocent man. whichever party inside munster rugbys tent who leaked this to the indo was intent on causing maximum damage not from some sense of right and wrong but from pure malice. roc and ct are no better than tabloid hacks from the worst days of the british press.

I was in South Africa recently.

The policing and judicial systems are far different to ours and that's before and after the end of apartheid. Corruption is widescale.

RR faced an accusation. He claims he is innocent. We should not attempt to put the man on trial here.

That should be the end of the matter.

Treacy and O Connor gained traction by reopening the historic event and linking this to resignations.

It's gutter journalism.

I don't read the Indo or Sindo and I never listen to OTB or Newstalk. Life is too short to entertain the low lifes involved with these media platforms.

I hope that Clayton will not be driven out of Munster and thereby give in to the puppet masters.

I hope that Clayton and the players will circle the wagons and take 10 pts from our 2 URC league fixtures

A message to the prophets of doom.

This is the URC League Table

We are 2 pts behind Leinster with their Galacticos (Ione, Synman & Slimani)

Clayton was dealt a bum hand.
Our 2 first choice tight heads played 7 games (combined) and our back up half backs didn't perform (Ben O Donovan has improved this)

We missed CC due to an outrageous decision by an incompetent English ref in Toulon.

Is that failure ?
