The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Kinsella has a pretty standard, carefully worded piece on the 42 about it, but includes the not insignificant line that Munster’s due diligence included speaking with people directly familiar with the 1997 incident.

I think that means they probably have more insight than people making staunch conclusions on the basis of a single decades old news article.

too late, the usual clowns have dialled up the outrage to 11. im never going to a game again. the whole organisation needs to resign blah blah blah. the indo are as bad as any of the english redtops. slapping themselves on the back for starting a pile on a guy who has already been through this almost a full 30 years ago. ruadhri oconnor and cian treacy were about 12 and 6 when all this went down. pair of twats

Clayton McMillan defends Munster’s appointment of Roger Randle as attack coach

"Munster head coach Clayton McMillan has defended the province’s appointment of his friend and former assistant at the Chiefs Roger Randle as their next attack coach. He also says he fully respects the disquiet among supporters and the decision by three former players to resign from their positions on Munster’s Professional Game Committee.

Billy Holland, Mick O’Driscoll and Killian Keane have all resigned from the PGC after the decision to appoint Randle following a process driven by CEO Ian Flanagan and general manager Ian Costello."

"To those supporters who harbour reservations about Randle’s appointment, McMillan said: “Look, I would ask people to put their trust in me and other people.

“I think if you jumped on to the Chiefs website, for example, and you read the comments about Roger Randle, you’ll see glowing reports of a man that’s loved by a huge cross-section in New Zealand, a family man, an honest man, and one that I trust unequivocally.

“Again, I can understand that people will have an opinion, but it’s not one that I share, and I honestly believe that he can come here and help our team and players develop and excel.”

JJ Bowles, Jerry Flannery's and Fitzgeralds on Sexton St. are a few good spots

Bowles has a great pint of Guinness

I've been in Jerry Flannerys, that's a lovely pub. I've also been in Patsy Flannerys, The Red Hen, and the Locke. I've dinner booked after the match in Texas Steakout.

Limerick is a fine town IMO. Looking forward to seeing what it's like on a match day

No McMillan picked his choice for the job which is fair enough. Whether he will prove to be the best man only time will tell.
My point agreeing with the original poster remains that public perception of how any sporting organisation does its business is important.
For every opinion there is always likely to be a counter opinion.
Drawing unwanted controversy onto the club at a time where the club is already struggling on and off the field is foolhardy and ill advised. We can agree to differ on this and im far from a Karen believe me.

Yet youve no problem with the limerick hurlers continuing to select an actual convicted violent criminal. standards make yours a double
