[How bad boy]

I'm heading off to Durban on the 19th (with 3 lads)

We go Cork-London-Joburg-Durban with BA, then a week in KwaZulu Natal (Sani Pass, Mandela Capture Site, 3 day Nambiti Safari) - back to Pretoria for the Bulls Game and home Joburg-London-Cork on 29th.

The Official Trip (Killester) cost €4500 flying Dublin-UAE-Durban - we paid less that half this.

Looking forward to seeing Winky Hendikse again and putting one over on the Sharks and then experiencing the altitude of Newlands.

Hoping to see the Big 5 but knowing my luck that will be Loughman, Scannell, Alaalatoa, Kleyn and Edwin

To be fair my brother went previously with Killester and they were very happy with them. That said, half the price is hard to refuse, the full price if it's a couple.

A relative of mine and his family were due to return to Ireland from Australia on Saturday evening, and were in the lounge when Emirates cancelled their flight. They'll be doing well to get back by Wednesday now.

Indeed, currently having fun with airport customer services and this whole situation is not helping

Hadn't thought of that. The Killester group are travelling on the same day (19th) so hopefully things will be calm by then. But it's so volatile there that you'd be concerned of re-escalation.

Dedication ? - It's 12 days away from the Missus Seriously though, I've always wanted to try a safari and this is a good mix. I spent 4 days in Cape Town for the URC Final in 2023. It's a great country to visit - massive value for money with the weak rand but you need to keep your wits about you and avoid the dangerous areas.

Killester give a great service. I've often used them and everything goes like clock work.
They must use Emirates to SA (Sponsor of URC) That's from Dublin and more flight time. I hate flying from Dublin. Our flight was €630 - Hotels €400 - 2 internal flights plus airport transfers €160 - Guided tour and Safari Stay - €1000 Total c €2,200 - Big saving and more convenient flights (especially now)

A group of us go to all the away CC games and it works out as too expensive to use Killester. In the recent trip to Toulon, we had a difficult route - Cork - Barcelona - Marseilles - the charter flight direct from Cork to Toulon was way easier but only 1 night in Toulon. We like to spend 2 nights in France - but it's a trade off. If I was doing one trip per annum, I'd use Killester.

We decided to give the Challenge Cup in Exeter a miss. Only a few days after SA so not realistic. I can't see Munster being competitive there, in any event.

I'd say there's little doubt we've crossed paths as we prefer the away CC games too, and we're going to Exeter for our sins ... Starting to regret it now though !
