The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Yeah, in fairness, 3 years at the age of 32 is gold.
Think he's also gotten a nudge out the door to make space for an NIQ recruit. Hopefully that's not Alaalatoa for next season, he's a good player but it'd be a waste to use one of those NIQ slots on a 35 year old.

Yeah, that's what I took from the update, interesting to see availability is TBC for the weekend. If it was seriously bad, then he'd be out.
Maybe a late call depending on 1: extent of injury and possible risk of aggravating it
2: what castres team travels .

As much as I hate the word "servant" 🤮, Kleyn was a great one to Munster during his 10 year spell but I'm happy enough for him to get a good deal elsewhere now and move on.
That NIQ spot is hugely valuable and I hope it is spent wisely.

Listened to ind podcast today and they were saying for a top of the range foreign player it’s ball park €700,000 Munster not going to compete with that for a while
Well they made 500k+ extra from the SPUC game, and they're now saving 300k+ from Kleyn going, so there's potential. That said, they have Marnus van Der Merwe coming next season so if Scannell is following his brother out the door, that's another 300k off the books.

All the transfer business is usually done by now, so fingers crossed that they may be a further quality signing or two
