The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

He’ll stay as long as he wants it, Connacht are awful, thy are a bottom half urc team and there is very
Little he can do, aki at the end of his career, Hansen injured long term not much to work with
He's really good at player development. It would make sense for Leinster to send some lads finishing the Academy across there with Frawley. Though that conveyor belt isn't obviously as strong as they think it is.

Gus McCarthy could do with a few years over there for example too. The more established players like Penney too if he's not too busy being a flat track bully.

Leinster players have done well over there

Interesting article after last weekend's showing, gives insight into where their focus has been and how he recognises the impact constant personnel changes has had:

I don't think the solution to Munster's problems is a couple of NIQ front rowers (although it wouldn't hurt...), the biggest problem is with the mental side and I think McMillan gets that.

Isn't Larmour rumoured to be moving west too. The likes of him and Frawley with Hansen, Aki, Gavin and Bolton would give them plenty options in the backline.

Will be interesting to see where joey goes if he returns. Connacht would be his best chance of regular game time.

Gus McCarthy would be a fool to stay at Leinster much longer. He should be at Munster instead of Lee Barron.

Lee Barron is hard to get the head around. He looks to be a better option than Scannell and his namesake but he's very very slight for a professional hooker and that can't be helping things in the scrum.

I'd say Joey will probably want Dublin and Leinster will be best suited to his injury woes with their other options

Yeah Barron looks very small

Lesinter would have Prendergast, Byrne and Joey. All 3 far better options than anyone at Connacht and probably Ulster too. Just doesn't make sense.

It's incredibly frustrating as a supporter.
We know we don't have the greatest squad but we also know that they can perform to a much greater standard than the sum of their parts would indicate they should.
To see them perform like they did in Croker and then for the standard to drop so dramatically to what we saw in Belfast within the space of a couple of months has become a tiresome cycle.
It's 100% a mental issue and to see McMillan highlight it so directly is both refreshing and encouraging.
I Hope he finds a solution to it and I'm optimistic he can but resolving mental obstacles like that, in every aspect of life, can often be the hardest nut to crack.

The first 2 will more than likely be in camps. Joey and that young lad Gabriel would be the backups when they're being managed with Joey as the old head.
