Tom Aherne was very unlucky last season to get injured so late as he was really pushing on after a great season for Munster. The Munster squad are preparing at the HPC ahead of Saturday’s BKT URC opener against Connacht at Thomond Park.
The game kicks off at 5.30pm with tickets available here.
There is good news for Jean Kleyn (eye) & Ethan Coughlan (leg) as they have returned to full training. Kleyn returns having missed the majority of last season while Coughlan has recovered from an injury sustained against Bath last month.
Liam Coombes and Jack Daly will look to complete the return to play protocols with a view to a full return to training this week. The duo were both removed following head injuries against Gloucester earlier this month.
Dave Kilcoyne (shoulder) is increasing his training load with a view to returning to full team training.
Diarmuid Kilgallen will undergo a period of rehabilitation with the medical department for a leg injury.
Continuing to rehab: Brian Gleeson (shoulder), Cian Hurley (knee), Tom Ahern (ankle), Rory Scannell (ankle), Paddy Patterson (knee), Edwin Edogbo (achilles), Roman Salanoa (knee).
