The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Relaunch the AIL as the local, accessible, easy, cheap day out at the rugby including a look at the local Munster prospects.

Push the clubs to make a day of the thing with bbq, music, etc. Use marquees if needs be.
Definitely.
It's not just the big clubs that can take that lesson.
Used to play rugby in Germany, every match weekend, there was a rota of responsibilities for the players. Someone would be on buying a few crates of beer, someone on getting BBQ supplies, setting up the BBQ at the side of the pitch, putting up the small gazebos, etc...
Would get decent of spectators to the matches (relatively, it was only a few hundred, but this is a local team in Germany...), talk to the locals and it was usually lads there for a beer and BBQ.
The injured players would do the cooking and go round to supporters doing delivery service. Kept them involved in the team, especially those lads out longer term.
Would pull in a decent few hundred euros a match, which paid for a crate of beers for each dressing room and a decent chunk left over for the club.

Honestly, no idea why no clubs on these islands seem to be adopting anything similar.

Yup. And weather no excuse with a clubhouse either. Infact, you'd swear they were built for just that sort of thing
