The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

They had a great chance this year to do something different this year like take matches to Nowlan Park, Wexford Park or Tullamore. Instead they've harmed the product by making Leinster matches at the Aviva about as exciting an event as a Leinster football championship match in Croker between Longford and peak five in a row Dublin.

I'd say they'll get 50K or so next week alright, but barely enough to justify not using the Aviva, and a much worse atmosphere.

Good point there alright, they had an opportunity to move their fixtures around their province but couldn't be arsed because they have issues seeing beyond D4.
Little wonder that people in rural parts of Leinster once felt more comfortable following Munster years back.

The Dumplin D4 media are turning on Pretendergast:

The media are a bunch of cowardly cunts. They, and the Leinster fan boys, wouldn't hear a word of criticism against Prendergast from November onwards. Everything was viewed through the lens of provincial bias, but now the fuckers are coming out of the woodwork, when it looks more like it'll hurt Leinster. They didn't give a fuck about Ireland as long as Munster was getting screwed. Those defensive inadequacies were obvious 6 months ago. I've heard a few lads falling over themselves to say that it's not that he's afraid to tackle. I don't know how they know that, but that's what it looks like to me; I was a chicken shit tackler and I know what one looks like!

I couldn't be arsed, but I'm pretty sure that if you trawl back on this out the Irish Rugby thread you'll find me and a few others predicting that he'd be figured out fairly quickly, given that he won't take it on himself. Guess what's happening now? Defence is standing off him and getting into the passing channels because they know he'll only pass or kick. It didn't take a genius to figure that out.

I was up for the France game and listening to the Brown Thomas brigade beforehand you'd think Sambo was the second coming of Dan Carter.

The Irish rugger press are a disgrace that they weren't questioning his selection for the England and Welsh games.

Tracey and the other Indo tool/sidekick would have been given the ok to write that piece. They love being inside the tent, it's ominous for Sammy if he doesn't start doing what he has never been able to do i.e. tackle.

Tracey is covering his ass though ...

Calls for Prendergast to be dropped in place of Frawley or Byrne for Saturday’s URC final will almost certainly fall on deaf ears, and rightly so.
