The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

There's been little discussion of this, and it's good to see it finally being aired.

Champions Cup game in Páirc Uí Chaoimh would be 'financially advantageous', says Munster COO

This is the key bit in the article, and something that was obvious 20 years ago before the Limerick myth building got fully underway....
Those % for attendance he's throwing out fail to mention that most of the population of County Clare live within 30 minutes of Thomond Park. For all the talk about "Limerick" rugby, it's as much Clare.

Even then though, Limerick and Clare combined is only about 2/3 the population of Cork.

It's about time that they released those numbers as it seemed to be that way for so long.
It's a right kick in the arse to Limerick anyway who feel they own Munster Rugby

This shower should not be in a competition neverlone a final when they have no interest in it :

With the RDS out of commission and Leinster having a lot of big crowds this season, suspect there's a fatigue that has set in, especially against a Glasgow side who have been fairly shite in recent months.

Would expect a big crowd for the final

Not following it closely but he seems to be banned every other week too
Par for the course in France. I think his project over there has reached its end naturally. He talked about this season and next being a rebuild. He's going to lose some big players over the next two players if he stays on.

They had a great chance this year to do something different this year like take matches to Nowlan Park, Wexford Park or Tullamore. Instead they've harmed the product by making Leinster matches at the Aviva about as exciting an event as a Leinster football championship match in Croker between Longford and peak five in a row Dublin.

I'd say they'll get 50K or so next week alright, but barely enough to justify not using the Aviva, and a much worse atmosphere.
