The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Wouldn’t your heart bleed for them ?
Whilst he may have a valid point, these ghoys are professional athletes and let's call a spade a spade the star players in Leinster get rested as they feel they are too good for league games.
So they hold back their best for the European Cup, not that it made much difference this year 😁.
My point is that there's a consequence to them utterly dominating the Irish squad for the most of the season, in the numbers that they're doing. One can make the point that they might be playing or training a similar amount of times to other provincial squads, but I would contend they're doing so at a far higher level of intensity, and that is taking a toll by the end of the season. Rather than a far more balanced Irish squad, all the pressure is on them to play at a higher level for far longer, and that may be what's been happening to them over the last few seasons.

Isn't there IRFU player management protocols in place ?
The ghoys have a squad of around 57 players , that surely is a very healthy number.
Is your Leinster friend now looking for excuses as to how their arrogance has not reflected reality up there over the last few years ?

But on that, I saw an interview earlier with Miley after their game yesterday, now I don't know but he is coming across as somewhat nervous.

I wonder is he feeling the pressure?

No, you're missing the point, which was me saying to him that Leinster having so many players involved with Ireland may not be such a win that he thinks it is. Yes there are protocols in place but training and playing with the international team is a far higher level than playing with your club, and you've got to peak for longer, at a higher intensity. That surely has to be having an effect by April/May.
