Tom Ahern is a fairly sizeable human being.

Kendellen isn't the biggest, but he's not small either.

It's a bloody quick backrow though.
It is. That's what I meant to add. There's a lot of Ahern, no doubt about that. I do like it, I suppose I'd be a small bit concerned about being out muscled in SA. On Kendellan, he's younger than I thought, so I think this might be a big year for him. I'd love to see the sort of development we saw for Jack after the last emerging Ireland tour.
 
Yeah, I find that neither Ahern nor Kendellen have the sort of nasty edge you need in a proper flanker. POM is one of the most disliked people in world rugby exactly because he has that hard, nasty edge.

JOD has it to some extent, the other two don't really.

In fact, with Beirne, Ahern, Kendellen and JOD, you have effectively 4 flankers, so hopefully will do ok in the breakdown.

You've just summarised my thoughts on it. I don't think the Leinster back row have it either, which is a concern for Ireland.
