The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

The pitchside management should have refused the sub though.
Make it obvious. The French did it against Wales a few seasons back (shenanigans there admittedly) but another indication how far away they are from the 'old' Munster.

Fuck sake.

It wasn't being dropped to 14 men that lost that game though. Didn't help even slightly but it wasn't what lost them the game.

Lineouts were a disaster zone.
Handling was poor, way too many knock ones. Attack seemed blunt and struggled to deal with the rush defense. Too many aimlessly kicks that were never going to lead to retention of possession. Difficult to watch.

Makes the last 3 matches all must win games.

They were poor on a dirty evening but to put thru a 14min spell a man down in a tight game is unforgivable from the officials.

Would it have made the difference, who knows but it should never have happened

Agreed. Thought Piardi was generally poor, but that's an abysmal mistake to make in such a critical match for Munster

The problem goes beyond Piardi. It was a bad mistake and rugby has been more progressive than most sports when it comes to the use of technology but the lack of ability for a 4th official to correct the referee on elements like this is stupid.
