It's a drop in the ocean compared to the greenhouse gasses being ommitted elsewhere like Brazil for example.
If we dont produce the meat then the gap gets made up by beef produced on slash and burn grasslands that were formerly rainforest.
Climate change isnt a country issue that stops at the Irish Sea it's a global issue that needs to be treated as such. By all means we should reduce fossil fuels to zero if possible but reducing farming beef moves that beef production elsewhere with actually a higher cost to the worldwide environment as a result.

Well reducing our consumption of beef would help. But but.........

Yet Europe thinks it is better if it is produced cheaply on former rainforest as opposed to a farm in Ireland where we have a climate ideally suited to produce a high quality product.

The EU needs to trade with others now that the US decided to put up barriers.
