The Marquee 2025

Bar Billy Bragg (and some Franz Ferdinand) I'm not a fan of those bands but surely be to fuck there'd be an audience for a line-up like that in Cork City?!

Is it the same promoter? There's no thought whatsoever in the Marquee line up once again. Box ticking, flogging a few tickets for Fridays and Saturdays in June and July when people with a mild interest will buy an Xmas present ticket or buy on the day just to have a night out. That's the market they're happy to wade in during recent years tbh.

Chris Kent, Dara O'Brien, Declan Pierce, Mary Wallopers, Coronas, Picture This, Christy Moore, Tommy Tiernan, Cian Ducrot, Amble ....... you'll catch them all in town in a smaller venue in the last 12 months and will again in the 12 months after the Marquee.

Manic Street Preachers are announced as one of the headliners for ForestFest 2025 in Laois which is on during the same time period as LATM.

Other acts include Franz Ferdinand, Orbital, Billy Bragg, Pillow Queens, The Stranglers, The Dandy Warhols and Travis.

Three or four of them would pull a big enough crowd. Aiken doesn't seem to have any interest in the 30 or 40 something age group that don't listen to Red FM.

The days of having a bit of something for everyone are long gone. It's nearly all bottom of the barrel stuff now.
On the plus side, it means I don't have the contemplate going to anything there. The sound is crap and it's a shit hole.

I'm a peaceful man, but I'd love to beat the shit out of those Mary Wallopers lads.
