The Kerry Babies Case

Genuinely what is the reason behind the lack of progress and lack of clarity.
Considering the significance of this particular case in Irish society I honestly feel that clarity is required. I understand there may be perhaps sensitivities involved but these are surely trumped

I honestly don't know.

As a general rule, when there is a long delay for DPP directions it is because there is forensic or other reports/information outstanding. So either questions have been sent back or there is a expert dragging their heels.

No idea if that applies in this case though.

Still! Long after strong new evidence came to light. That’s the very point.

A defenceless baby was killed. An innocent woman and her family were terrorised by the “Forces of Law and Order” and forced to sign confession for it.The guilty party(s) has not been brought to justice yet.

It was a major stain on the reputation of the application of Law and Order in this country.

Apart from bringing the guilty party(s) to justice it would help bring some closure to that sorry mess, and could restore some lost confidence in the whole justice system here.

But, as usual, the wagons continue to have been circled - so much so that you continue your “nothing to see here, move along” type spiel here

Thou Shalt Not Ever Question The Integrity Of The Irish Legal System! 🙄

At no point have I done this.

You are demanding answers from me in relation to a case that I am in no way involved in, and taking offence because I can't give a definitive answer.

Can you not see how demented that is?

:ROFLMAO: You didn't give a definitive answer or anything like it, and nor was one demanded of you.

You merely repeated your glib
"Its
Still

as though we should all think that was good enough and IF the DPP ever gets around to it that should be time enough for the little people outside the circle to be satisfied.

Nobody suggested that the DPP rush in headlong and make a decision on the spur of the moment - but surely, even you, can see that this delay has been more than lengthy. Over a year ago it was reported in the national media to some fanfare, that Gardai had made an arrest and were confident that the DNA evidence would stand up linking the arrested couple to the dead Baby John. And since then ...........Radio Silence from the DPP.

Do you accept the adage that "Justice delayed is justice denied" by the way? (You can try give a definitive answer to that as it's a question about what opinion YOU have )

It is the answer to the question you asked. It's not my problem that you don't like the answer

I never said any of this.

It's taking a long time. In the absence of information it seems logical to infer that something is causing that delay, and that the general public are not privy to that.

Sometimes, but not always.

It was a glib "answer" as well you know
I never said any of this.

I never said you said any of it - are you really that unfamiliar with the import of "as though"?

Do you know of any other high profile case in the history of the state where the Gardai so openly said that they were confident in the evidence that they had linking the suspects where the DPP dithered/delayed so long?

Sometimes, but not always.

So you accept there's at least the chance that Justice is being denied here. Not a good look for the DPP and the whole offices of Law and Order in this state given the previous history of the case is it?

Why can't you just fix something you have no involvement in? Come on like...

Nobody suggesting she should, or even could Omar. But the whole "I'm in the know and you little people wouldn't really understand the intricacies of it all and why the DPP is right to delay for well over a year on this" attitude is amusing.

The silence now around what has been such a prominent case is notable. Since the DNA fanfare and arrest a year ago there must have been another twist in this sorry tail since.
