It’s as useless as tits on a bull because there isn’t one player on here who doesn’t look at all posts either by pressing show ignored content or by seeing posts through other posters replies to posters they have ignored.

You dont see the blocked posters posts when they are quoted by others.. you get a note saying something like 'Blocked Content' screening them out. I have only the one person blocked.. that imbecile Rebels/FSG or whatever he's called now. His repetitive inane shite had the forum completely spammed so i blocked him and the function does exactly what it says on the tin. I absolutely do not check what he's posting as the reason I blocked him was so i wouldn't have to read it!

Having not seen a post of his in probably a year at this stage my guess is that he is still posting the usual guff:

Country is fucked, everything is shit
Corrupt politicians
Fatty O Brien
some shit about Leo being the spawn of Satan
They should all be in jail

What I mean is if you want to see ignored posters posts you can. What I’m more thinking is along the lines of FB, Instagram etc where you can’t even see that they exist anymore. So let’s say you block me, not alone can you not see what I post but for all intents and purposes it looks like you’ve vanished on my end.

Ah - It doesn't bother me that you can see they have posted or been responded to as I have absolutely no interest in what he would post, and just skim over the responses too as they are inevitably just telling him he's a moron

It used ruin any thread you'd have an interest in as every page was spammed with the same mantra repeated over and over

I think most have adopted that approach.

I can honestly say I never look at Sports Choons posts, except for that one time the site logged me out for no reason and I was half through a Sports choon post before I realised it.

That was the worst day of my life.

I think the last time I used it was when some researcher logged an early gen AI in here ( envirosapiens )
It was near impossible to get over the drivel , so the ignore function became necessary

I’m surprised there aren’t more AI’s in training in here to be honest
