I'd completely forgotten that, Terrier. Full disclosure on my version. As you can see it's a screen grab and I've zoomed in. I just loved the serenity of her look, and then there's her shapes and angles...... Beautiful. Even the black hand adds something.

I think the camera angles make the track look strange but from this angle it looks like the normal regulation shape you would see nowadays.
The track surface looks more like red clay.
It was a great feat, arguably the best ever Irish sporting achievment.
When you think that race took place at the MCG on 1st December 1956- almost 70 years ago, what a result.

you're right, that's the normal spot

3:41 converts to a sub 4 min mile too. Bannister only went sub 4:00 2 years prior and Delaney was in a championship race with no pacers.
