what an inspirational player he was for Offaly, 1981 was one of the greatest days in the history of all iteland finals, up there with 80, 95, 96 and 2018

if there is a push for a round robin all ireland series it is possible that you could play the provincial championships in April as a knockout competition with the 4 provincial finalists qualifying for a new super 8s all ireland championship in june where they would be joined by 4 backdoor qualifiers

I think this is what they will eventually go with

On the club game, under no circumstances should their current season be pushed back to suit the inter county season

Thoroughly enjoyed his Laochra Gael earlier this year. Thankfully he got an episode before it was too late.

An incredible hurler, 18 years an inter county hurler. Really obvious from the old footage he was some boy to take and give a slap but he had great technical ability too.

Rest In Peace.
He didn't drink apparently and as captain in 1981 he refused to bring the trophy to pubs which was very much a tradition back then.

what a leader played full back in the railway cup winning leinster teams in 73 74 75 76 some achievements when you think it was only kilkenny and wexford in them days. played under 21 football for offaly also for two years. his display in the 85 final got offaly over the line again galway was a tough man and had many a battle with kilkenny and wexford in the 80's rip padraig

Brilliant Laochra Gael on him. The footage of the mad pulling is great to see. The bit about the league match between Offaly and Clare, I think, was hilarious.

Inter county season could definitely be pushed out . The All Ireland final was 4 weeks ago , the semis almost 6 weeks and we in cork have played what one round ot hurling fixtures

But there are 2 codes.
In the 5 weekends after the hurling final, there’ll be 4 rounds of club championship complete (2 hurling and 2 football) and just one break weekend.
So if the intercounty gets pushed back, where are you finding the extra weekends to play the club matches?
