The Hurling Thread

There’s a long time before any changes will be made, and they certainly won’t be made on these forum. It’s good for posters to vent their frustration and anger, but the site is irrelevant really. There’s an all Ireland coming.. Galway are young, confident, well drilled and have momentum against a stuttering ageing Limerick side. Gillane isn’t performing, Hegarty saved them against Clare, and Galway hopefully will send the green machine off to the scrap heap. Come on the Tribesmen!
Not venting at all on this particular theme, my first query is very relevant and Cork were similarly affected last year with injuries arising out of playing against Limerick. And injuries in general, Harnedy went either as a result of the Limerick game or soon after and that was a big one. So how to protect key players during a brutal Munster campaign so we've a fighting chance at the business end?

We'll see how aging Limerick are in a week. They've a bit of a challenge to recover from the Clare game, that does catch up with you after a while.

And Galway have a top class manager.

So. I’ve had a few and watched the game back like the idiot that I am. A few observations on that theme…

Agree totally on the injuries, but if we are to go again and if Limerick are the same battering ram, how can we play them say 3 times and not get players battered heading into an AI series? Suggesting a Cork team B plays them in game 3/Munster final is ridiculed on here. And there are no young fellas coming through with the same kind of build.

Uimhir a do, fair play to Galway and all but it’s not like we lost to a Limerick in full flow. If someone had given Cork the right kind of kick up the hole at 1/2 time and they put an effort in they could have been a lot closer. It’s like Cork were in second gear and not necessarily because of Galway. We were just in second gear in that second half. The Barrett and Darragh yellows were lazy fecking efforts, they’ll know that themselves, and indicative of tired or unfit players. There might be too much hurling going on. Again a few beverages on board and I could be way off. Changes are needed though, whatever they are.
Sensible post
As a gobshite( me) looking on they seemed lack lustre

James Owens will not be happy - he was nailed on favourite to get it. I'd say maybe some of the issues around Munster final blotted his copybook.
