There’s no way we’d be favourites. All the talk would be about whether we’d lose yet another final.

And I think we raise our game against Limerick which may be exactly what we need.

i agree but i am less confident of beating Limerick than at any stage over the last 3 years

But finals are all on the day and they know the one team that can beat them are us

2011 in the Gaelic Grounds and 2015 Thurles were low points for Cork hurling.

2005 was my first final. I’ll never forget it but I took it for granted at the time.

5 games left, and there is bound to be a shock result in those 5 games

But which game?

Agreed on this. In the round robin era, the most likely All Ireland final pairing, even after the provincials have finished, has in my opinion never materialised.
Example, Limerick would have been expected to be in the final in 19, 24 &25, Clare would have been predicted to be in the finals around 22 and 23 after their performances in Munster.
It has happened time and again that one of the predicted 2 finalists gets beaten along the way.

Didn't JBM come on in the second half in1985? He had been ill before the game afaicr.
Conditions were atrocious. The game shouldn't have gone ahead imo.
I was on the lash in Skibb that bank holiday weekend. Happy daze!
