Hard to know, hes a real hurling guy can't see him staying away too long , cork not wanting him anymore makes taking it bit easier but agree many would find it hard to manage against their own county. Eamonn cregan in 94 offaly v limerick was in his own words , delighted and heartbroken at same time.

I think if Cork win the All Ireland all bets are off then. He’d feel no hesitation then I’d imagine.

I’d take Pat Ryan back in a heartbeat in 3/4 years if a change up is needed. He’d have learned from the past and the players really buy into him as a manager and a person.

Ducky O Rourke will surely try and stay involved in the Waterford setup? He may well be able to persuade his good pal Pat Ryan to give it a go. I'd be supremely disappointed and I'd like to think the county board would move mountains to keep him here, maybe as 20s boss with a view to giving the Senior gig a cut again whenever Ben O'Connor's time ends. Although if Ben has a Brian Cody length of tenure then I'll be selfish and take that and all the silverware that would go with it!!!
