The Hurling Thread

Offaly really on the rise now, whether they qualify or not. Great team to watch ,mix of speed and skill with the young players and the experience of duignan ,Sampson and conneelly.
Wexford are at the lowest they've been. Say rossiter is done. Not good when fellas in their 20s won't play.
They have been a breath of fresh air this year.

They are an example to other county’s that are trying to develop and compete at the top level.

It’s hard to get a read on Clare after being so poor last week, were they that good yesterday or was it Tipp made them look good? Probably a bit of both!

I hope we hammer them next week!
We know Clare well enough to figure out they'll be a right pain- expect niggling, sledging, sh*thousery, elaborate collapsing in response to contact, some classic skills and unreal scores. They will test our new look defence and structure, we'll test theirs.
They were rabid in the swarm tackle yesterday, but Tipp were flat and wilted.
Guess some of it will depend on how likely it is that the likes of Conlon can repeat that in a 7 day turnaround because you'd imagine the speed of the Cork forward unit is going to pose a different challenge.
Fitzgibbon out is clearly an advantage to them...

Dublin won't beat kilkenny. Great record against Galway but seem to have some psychological hang up with kilkenny.
If im wrong ill tip my hat to them and say fair dues.
They beat yourselves with 14 men. They just beat Galway in Salthill. I sincerely doubt they have any hangups about playing this iteration of KK in Parnell Park.
They won't run out of gas like the teams that KK have beaten so far this championship.
Best chance in years of getting a result v KK and securing a place in the Leinster final.

Tricolour's a KK man. I'd give the Dubs a v good chance, but equally KK will have no fear of them, having beaten them so frequently. TBF the Dubs have just put together back-to-back wins v the two teams who would have been expected to be challenging then to get out of Leinster - I don't think they've ever managed that in the round-robin before.

Conlon coming back gave Clare FB line a bit of cohesion was a huge addition after previous days annihilation…He’s no spring chicken all the same…Tipp were beyond pathetic so hard to read too much into Clare…Stritch is the real deal, he was one of the few who showed up against Limerick..

I was listening to Liam Cahill's interview after the match. He used the phrase "hurling in fear" to describe the second half performance. I thought it was a really good explanation of it. Exactly the same at Cork's second half in last year's AI.
