I can only imagine what the double was like to live through. It must have been incredible.

From where I was looking at it, it was indeed most bearable. You must understand that we had come close to the double on other occasions. 1966 when we lost to Galway in the semifinal having wasted some serious goal chances, and particularly 1956 when we lost both finals.

I was at that final, a limerickman supporting cork , different times back then none of the toxic social media etc but yeah ye were but it was a brilliant achievement and especially for teddy mccarthy .
Always remember we were 1 ticket short and met a father and son from milford trying to sell a ticket for over cost price. I knew milford then well at the time and started asking him did he know such and such a person , wait until I tell em you're a tout . Got it for cost price and then gave him money for 2 pints. great days back then, seems like another lifetime now.
As an aside did cork or gaa ever give Dennis Walsh a medal for 1990 football , unused subs i think didnt get medals those days
