The Hurling Thread

Saw that and it was also mentioned as a resource for dementia sufferers , memories of old games etc for those of us who are older or for elderly parents neighbours etc.
Heard an interview on the radio about it yesterday. What a fantastic resource! There was a lady talking about her mother in the late stages of dementia who hadn't communicated with them in a long time. They put on a final for her and she immediately sat up listening to it and asked for s cup of tea. After it was finished she was talking to everyone about the match and all the players she knew. That's some lift to give you if you're losing a close one to dementia.

On another note you can put in the cc captions for sub titles...worth it alone just to see the pace at which Michael flies through the commentary. Can barely keep up with him.

KK support in genuine shock over the result in Salthill.

I think it was another case to demonstrate that if you're not at the pitch of a game these days, not fully tuned in, any good team will put a big run of scores on you.

I think every top 5 or 6 team, bar maybe Limerick or Clare, have it in them to haemorrhage a rake of scores to any other top 5 or 6 team.
It's proven that you can recover from those kind of losses, and quick enough too.
Happened to Clare in the league v Cork last year and v Limerick in 2023. In the championship, v KK in 2022.

Don't think Limerick have suffered a defeat like that in years, in either league or championship. Closest I can think of is when Cork beat them by 9 points in the league back in 2022.

its been a while since a bad defeat by a large margin for sure .2009 all ireland sf v tipp is the day that sticks in my mind as they hammered us 6_19 to 2_7.
That was the day and he has said it himself that John kiely decided he wanted to throw his lot in all do his bit to help limerick hurling.

So all I need is a time machine and a gun and I can prevent it all ;-)

Jaysus, forgot that league game in Ennis.
OK, guess it is just Limerick who never get absolutely steam rolled then

when was yer real leader JPs divine inspiration moment? 😆
Always involved locally ,has sponsored limerick going back a long time .
The lifting the treaty scheme at underage under pat culhane was a huge driving force for change in limerick hurling.
In a lot better place going forward .
