Can't say im a fan of that change , am more inclined to agree with Thomas mulcahy than John kiely on it though I can see both sides of it. I just dont think its needed and should definitely not be introduced before trialling in a full league campaign.

Good change, referees deserve more respect in the game and we need more referees. Any attempt to punish back chat is a good idea.

A lot will depend on the ref...
I might say "ah ref,are you blind"
another may say "ref,you are acting the c.nt"
will both be punished the same.?
A lot of abuse comes from managers and selectors.

I don't think it is a bad rule, but it will be very subjective.

One players impassioned plea is another ref's dissent!

Don't disagree with the rule in what its aiming to combat but just think it adds another grey area to rules of game and how refs are going to interpret it .

Keep your mouth shut and there is no grey area.

You swear the rule wasn't there already, they have just increased the punishment from 15m to 30m to make it more penal to try cut it out.

True enough i guess, thats john kielys take on it too says its up to players
