The Hurling Thread

??? There was 7k inside a stadium that holds over 80k, you could hear the calls from the line. Some atmosphere alright !! The pitch condition of course is a given
Anywhere else that game would a slogfest of rucks and picking and poking. Pitch allowed players to show off their full range of skills.
I get the atmosphere would be better in carlow or portlaoise but any hurler would want to play on a surface like croker

Delighted for Martins, fairytale stuff, great game of hurling. Some point to win.
Questions again about Shefflin as a manager.
That's harsh on shefflin. Martin's were fitter and hungrier. Ballyhale without Adrian Mullen and 2 other players who would be decent subs to come on.

They were down to the bare bones really. 1 of the subs who came on I don't think he made any appearances so far this year at all.
St martins looked very well coached as well as being excellent hurlers. Never seen Jack o connor as good

Yeah the club game suits Jack. Little bit too slow for top class inter county but really comes into his own in the club game.

Not merely play, but actually win. The interview at full time with rte had the martins player proper shouting down the mic ‘WE WON, IN CROOOOKER!’ and a fist pump to the parish in the stands only a few metres away. It meant so much. Plays looks good with the face lift post nfl game.
