Flanagan owes ye nothing. A brilliant player on his day. Largely forgotten (on Leeside maybe anyway) his 3 goals against Cork in the RR in 2024. He nearly sank us that summer on his own. A brilliant performance. I’ll remember him for his over the head / out on the wing points. He had an unbelievable knack for them. Not unexpected. Seamus found his place taken by both O Connor and Shane o brien. He was playing very poorly at that point aswel. Apparently was unhappy he was only making the bench for both Munster final and subsequent dubs game and whispers was he left the squad at that point. The Niall o Leary incident was poorly thought of by management who were keen to draw a line under it. Seamus felt unsupported.
Subsequent media appearances after the season suggested he wasn’t returning under current management. I think unlikely current management group go beyond this season and he probably hopes to return so I’d say unlikely to see a “retirement “ tweet
Pity he was a fans favourite and always gave so much hard work on the field. if gotten back to form was a a decent player but jk and kinnerk can be ruthless.
