The Hurling Thread

Jesus, would you old farts just stfu.
Maybe it's time for your nap time since you're getting a bit cranky 😠

I mean I like the romanticising about the good old days but most of us weren't born when Christy Ring was winning Railway cups or when you were using your outside toilets or before refrigeration or what ever else you old farts ramble on about.

p.s. I mean old farts as a term of respect. 😂

Your mom was very popular back then too

It's great really.
It's been sold as a great novelty but in reality it's the latest installment in knock out hurling between the two oldest rivals in the game.
The history is littered with stories of underdog success, controversial events, unlikely hero's and likely ones.
It's a mixture of dislike and begrudging respect we have for each other because each county has downed the other and ended their journey countless times in the past and it's the past we've been brought back to with this match up. You can't help remembering all the matches and characters from the past even if they will have no bearing on this match.

Im looking forward to up to the match this year not to mind the banter with the Tipp fans before the match.
Reminiscing here just like an old timer/fart.

You have to credit them with some amount of self belief to be rubbing their hands in glee at playing a team who have blown them out of the water the last 2 times we've played them.
Those two games are totally irrelevant just like our first game in Gaelic grounds was irrelevant when it came to Munster final.
What is the point of going in to a final with out self belief or confidence.
Neither team will be talking about the results of those games bar for analysis purposes.
If they play the perfect game Sunday week that they are capable of they will win, if we do the same we will win.
Previous results mean nothing.

If Cork have two that underperform and Tipp do too, then I’d fancy Cork. If enough of Corks team show up on the day we’ll have enough for them imho
