The Hurling Thread

Dublin would have a serious team if the managed to get Eoghan O Donnell back. He is one of the best full backs around and the dubs leaked some soft goals yesterday.

Im not sure about that BB, I may well be wrong but I dont think they are at the top table and will come unstuck against the big sides when they meet. I posted early on back in this thread that I thought they had the potential this year to make the Leinster final, and that would be a big achievement for them. To get there I thought they'd have to adapt their playing style a bit and go more direct, which they have and is paying dividends. Hetherton is making a massive difference for them and I think they only copped on to what he could do by an enforced change before the Wexford match, he's not the most elegant hurler but he's a big awkward fecker and gets them a serious return out of what they put down on top of him.

Having said all of that I dont think they would live with many of the munster sides, it's a big step up again in pace and intensity in comparison which would have them struggle to execute their game IMO. KK have held them at arms length the last few years, but they are well used to this, know its just Leinster for now and will kick on when needs be.

Really, hadn't heard any of this.Bit surprising I thought that he hadn't been asked back seeing as the football gig isn't panning out.
Poor attitude, new Dublin hurling boss is a pure Dublin hurling man and has a huge job to change the culture, get a focus on hurling and try and improve skill levels across the squad, he won’t brook any of this nonsense of opting from one squad to another and he is exactly what Dublin need after years of celebrity managers

And he has an A-I club to his name which will help when he has to face fellas down to change that culture. Comes across as a very smart bloke.

On that I wonder are dublin playing better without donal Burke. Their gameplan usually revolves around him and he can be shut down by close man markers. Now they have Sean currie and Brian hayes stepping up plus the option of going long to hethereton
