Obviously very very happy as Limerick supporter. Felt right from the off that it was going to be a statement performance like Munster final second half 19, first half 21 final or second half 23 final. When this team gets into that groove no team can live with them. Very encouraged to see the energy sharpness and hunger there. That always been the question mark. I don’t miss many games and it was clearly lacking all last year. Just looked exhausted
Hayes to 6 is a bit of a gamechanger because it’s so hard to get beyond him while he has the pace to recover… English to midfield gives us a breaking threat to keep defences honest that we didn’t have before. Big performances by nearly every player I feel we won all 15 positions.
That all being said it was very hard obvious that cork were having an absolute shitshow of a day. Nothing went right. Very Tactically naive and did absolutely nothing to cheese the clock or break or momentum during first half. Felt very similar to Limerick in 13 sf v Clare where we didn’t get off the bus at all.
Championship is always based on momentum and spite and hunger. All the Munster teams are able to beat each other if it falls into place. I feel cork have given us a massive massive burst of energy yesterday ….. very similar to the burst cork got from the scenes in the pairc last year. Expect to meet in Munster final and cork will turn up.
