You won't admit it, but another reason you hate limerick and clare is because they have been beating ye regularly over the last 5/6 years. These lesser counties beating cork has clearly rattled rebels supporters including yourself who were used to sweeping these upstarts aside with the minimum of fuss for decades.Pat Ryan, Aaron Gillane, Kyle Hayes all been involved in assaults in pubs.
In relation to head-shots. I don't dispute there is the odd one from players from other counties. But:
1) I condone these also and support any punishment meted out to them;
2) These are lone-wolf instances. With Limerick a couple years ago (admittedly not as bad now, because refs cottoned on to their antics) it was so clearly systematic and drilled into them to go looking for these cheap head shots, once they could get away with it. (Kind of like how Clare's diving and cheating is systematic and drilled into them).
3) What limerick introduced, other teams have copied. Thats why we are seeing it spread. I consistently called this out on this forum over the past few years, that it would become a contagion in the sport because it wasnt being adressed, by referees, or media, or even on forums like this. Everyone just wants to sweep it under the carpet and pretend it isn't happening. Similar to rugby 20-30 years ago before rules around tackling, head high tackles, collapsing scrums/mauls, spear tackles, etc were really enforced. That was kind of when the really serious spinal and neck injuries disapeared from the game.
I'd cheer for Limerick over Clare any day because of Clare's diving, playacting for frees and trying to get opposition players sent off. At full strength, they are a top side, I'll give them that. Limerick are rightly regarded as one of the best sides of all time, however, we still beat them twice last year. There's mutual dislike and respect between both counties. Bring on Sunday, the atmosphere will be electric, perhaps worthy of a final!You won't admit it, but another reason you hate limerick and clare is because they have been beating ye regularly over the last 5/6 years. Same. Id shout for Limerick over Clare. Just had a good few bad experiences with a lot of Clare fans at matches down the years. Bitter enough bunch a lot of them. That being side, some of the soundest lads i know are from Clare and big into hurling. But they are long gone from Clare.I'd cheer for Limerick over Clare any day because of Clare's diving, playacting for frees and trying to get opposition players sent off. Tarnished according to you is it ? i dont seem to hear that narrative from any pundit or current or ex player on television,media outlets or even podcssts.Same. Id shout for Limerick over Clare. Limerick fans to be fair, generally good banter with them when we meet, exception be the one lad on this forum.
Great hurlers no doubt, both teams, but legacys tarnished with the way they won at times
I mean this in a respectful way, I'm sick to death talking about them. I believe in our lads and I believe in our management team. Albeit, some huge challenges ahead this year.Tarnished according to you is it ? i dont seem to hear that narrative from any pundit or current or ex player on television,media outlets or even podcssts.
Is Dublin football legacy tarnished by the lob-sided funding they got ?
Is Frances world cup and euros win tarnished by zidanes headbutt in 2006 ?
Begrudgers would say so i guess
That's targeted at me, of course. That's par for the course from youSame. Id shout for Limerick over Clare. Just had a good few bad experiences with a lot of Clare fans at matches down the years. That's absolutely fair, and something similar happens as regards (some) supporters in other countries. As a KK man, you've doubtless heard (or read comments from) other KK folk giving out yards about handpasses, especially in the case of Limerick. Two things can be true at once: handpasses/throws are a problem in the game, and there is a focus on it by (some) fans of other counties who wouldn't be nearly as exercised if their counties were still winning All-Irelands regularly.You won't admit it, but another reason you hate limerick and clare is because they have been beating ye regularly over the last 5/6 years. This must be one of your worst efforts ever, and that’s saying something, are ye that worried about us in Limerick?Davy has done it all from club level, 3rd level and inter county. He is winning his whole life. It’s not fair the little fella has to make a 9 hour round trip when he could have a shorter spin down the road to help us end our 20 year famine for Liam.
Kiely and Kinnerk are too cute for our management team but Davy would inspire all around him.
