The Gaelic Football Thread

Sean Kelly basically used his article in the examiner to support option b but say that they'll all realise eventually his plan from 2015 was excellent and will bring that in in a few years. Chirst but that man is a tit.

His plan in 2015 is the best by far if you read it can t understand how it was neaver looked at have a read of it ...he was lets be honest the best president very progressive ..soccer/rugby in croker and the All-Ireland cub championships at Junior and Intermediate level with finals in Croke Park..

This result gives the much maligned GPA a chance to flex their muscles.
Yer man Reynolds the Leinster Chair man/person disputed the figures that Ger Gilroy gave him. 80% of players supported option B.

Parsons and co. should now make a statement of some sort if they are to retain any credibility as player representatives.
They won't of course, and the suits know that.

Do the players/GPA have no votes in Congress?
And the Middle East and Yorkshire have 2 each, same as Donegal.

Sounds like a missed opportunity.
Did they not have a debate where those who opposed it gave suggested changes?

Kerry, Limerick and Waterford not declaring their voting intentions seems odd - is that a sign they voted against?
I would have thought Proposal B would suit all 3.

Would they have been much interest in Cork playing "championship" games v the likes of Roscommon,Clare,Down, Offaly,Galway, Meath,Derry next yr. Hardly a great step above playing Tipp and Limerick. At least against Kerry you get to see the std required to win the thing. All of the above are miles off winning anything.

Best gaa president in the last 40 years and a man with a bit of vision and ideas…….badly needed especially after the last number of years of total lack of leadership from the likes of cooney, horan, O’Neill, Duffy and Ryan…….the organisation is just standing still over the last while

I agree with the above regarding Sean Kelly (2003/2006) - he dragged some aspects of the GAA into the 21st century. He also opened up Croke Park for the club finals - it gave those competitions a big boost.

Honourable mention though, to Peter Quinn (91/94) - he drove the modernisation of the Croke Park stadium. It wouldn't have happened, only for him.

The others were just administrators - no vision, no leadership. Useless.

Jasus Ned where have you been these past five or six years.?
Most if not all of the teams you name have beaten Cork and unless Ricken
can pull some rabbit out of his hat, they will do so again.
Unlikely to improve the mood in any camp getting hammered by the top teams.
Gotta hasten slowly imho.
